#58 St. Ambriose Pumpkin

You've got to give it to Florida—They keep their pumpkin beers around for a while.

Surprised I'm back? Me too. It's been 4.5 months since I updated my pumpkin beer tally. I was recently down in Tampa, Florida for my World of Beer Drink It Intern Interview. While I was there, I went to the best, closest liquor store around, which happened to be Total Wine & More. This place was a full-sized grocery store devoted to alcohol. It was beyond beautiful. While shopping around in their massive beer aisle, I found two pumpkin beers: St. Ambrose Pumpkin and the next one (Don't wanna spoil the surprise). And...well. I bought these two pumpkin for two reasons:

1. Whenever I visit a new town, I am self-obligated to buy a local 6-pack (or more) of local brew that I would not find in Indiana. That tradition started about a year ago and, honestly, I love doing it. It exposes me to so many more beers that Indiana ever could. And...

2. I promised to buy every pumpkin beer I found. So, I made room in my 6-pack for two and dove in.

St. Ambroise, shockingly, is from Canada!!! Making it Pumpkin beer #2 from a foreign country. I should have figured they had pumpkin beer in Canada. Oh well. So how is it?

Taste: Well, Canada. You let me down again. After tasting this, I'm no longer positive you have pumpkins in or around your country. This is more chai tasting than the pumpkin chai beer, so I'll give it credit there. The taste is just so manufactured. I am not surprised at all that I got this for less than $2.
Smell: Pumpkin, cinnamon, and a bizarre chai smell.
Color: Dark Tan (#6C1211)
Stars: 3/10
Buy Again?: No
